How quickly can we get started?

Our kick-off date is based on engineer availability, but we can usually get started within two weeks or less. We reserve spots on a first-come, first-serve basis, with priority given to clients who lock in for multiple months.

What if I purchase mid-month?

When you start your subscription in the middle of the month, we'll charge you a prorated amount for your first payment to align your subscription with the 1st of the month going forward.

Let's say you choose the Plus plan which costs $9,500/mo and gets you 50 hours of engineer-time. If you start your subscription on April 15th:

• April 15th to April 30th is 50% of the month
• April 15th: you're charged 50% of your plan plus 100% for May: $4,750 + $9,500
• April 15th: you receive 50% of engineering hours plus 100% for May: 25 + 50
• Starting June 1st you'll be charged regular monthly pricing

Can I pause or cancel any time?

Yes! One of the benefits of working with us is our month-to-month model. When you decide to pause or cancel, your subscription will continue until the end of the month. At that point the engineer you're working with will be freed up for other clients. When you're ready to resume, we'll schedule you at the earliest possible date based on engineer availability.

How does the satisfaction guarantee work?

We're sure you'll be amazed with the results, but we understand the risk of working with a new partner.

If you're not totally satisfied with our work, contact us within the first 30 days to let us know why. We'll cancel your service and refund 50% of your purchase price.

What are the steps before we purchase?

Book an introductory call. On or before our call we'll get a sense of your timeframe and cross-check that with our engineers' availability. This will help us determine a firm kick-off date.

During our call we'll discuss your needs and make sure we're the right fit for you. We'll leave you with a clear understanding of the value we can provide and a booking window to lock in our availability promise.

Sign the contract, submit payment, and we're official! We'll reach out to schedule our first day.

Can you join standups and sprint planning?

Meetings use your engineer-hours, so it's up to you how much to include us. In most cases we recommend minimizing meetings and using async communication to optimize our impact, but if meetings are the best way to collaborate we'll 100% be there.

How does knowledge transfer work?

Charlene leaves repo-committed documentation and useful inline comments to ensure your team can pick up where we left off. Our engineers will ensure documentation is concise, useful, and actually warranted for the task at hand.

What timezones do you work from?

Currently all our engineers are US-based in Eastern Standard Time (EST).

What tech stacks do you work with?

We have experience with a wide range of tech, but we specialize in the following:

React, Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, AWS, Tailwind, SQL, Convex, bash scripts, and more.

We don't have a dev team, can you still help us?

Absolutely! As a matter of fact, there are some major advantages in using us without a dev staff. We can offer technical leadership or even function as a technical co-founder.

Will my developers know there's an AI on the team?

Only if you want them to! Charlene won't show up as an author of commits. PR comments won't list her name in any way. Other forms of messaging with your team, like Slack, will be directly with our engineers.
